Meet Our Staff
Our optometrists at Sherwood Park Eye Centre are committed to providing excellent eye care for every patient. We listen to your concerns, discuss your vision and eye-health issues, and thoroughly detail treatment options while offering advice on the best course of action.
We view our relationship with you as a partnership, and we want you to ask us questions and share your health information so we can do a better job detecting your vision problems and treating your eyes. We are the optometrists Sherwood Park can trust.
Mark Malishewski
General Manager & Licensed Optician
Mark is our General Manager and Licensed Optician with over 12 years of experience in Optical and 5 of them at SPEC. You will see him working here at SPEC as well as our sister office Lendrum Eye Centre. You’ll often find him fixing equipment and computers, helping out in pretest or reception, or offering his expertise in the lab. Always willing to lend a hand when asked! In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, which includes spoiling his nieces and nephew. Mark always enjoys teaching himself new things from 3D printing to anything computer related.
Jennifer Gano
Operations Manager
Jennifer is our Operations Manager at SPEC and has been with us for over 20 years! She oversees all aspects of the office in making sure we’re always delivering our best experience possible. You’ll also see her working in our lab and optical helping some of her long-time patients in fitting their newest pair of glasses. Jennifer is also an amazing potluck and party planner! Check out our social media to see her potlucks, BBQs, and parties which are always a hit! In her free time, she enjoys skiing with her son, watching chick flicks, and spending time with friends and family.
Isaac McAnerin
Optical Manager
Isaac is our Optical Manager with over 10 years in the industry and 5 of them at SPEC. Isaac oversees our frame gallery as well as our lab. He’s well versed in the technical aspects of what makes the perfect frame and lens combination. Isaac is always up for a challenge and enjoys helping those see as best as they can! Outside of the office, you will find him rocking out on his drums or picking up a new instrument.
Erica Mack
Clinic Coordinator
Erica is our clinic Coordinator here at SPEC. She leads our pretest technicians and reception teams, ensuring a great experience for your family during their eye exams. Families will most likely meet Erica if your child is a part of our Myopia Management program where she acts as your Myopia Partner, supporting families through additional testing, appointments, and myopia treatment options. Erica also supports our social media, marketing, and blogs where she can flex her journalism background! Outside of the office she enjoys reading, writing, baking, watching comfort movies/tv shows, and spending time with her cat, Willow.
Holly Veinot
Ocular Hygienist & Certified Optometric Assistant
Holly is a Certified Optometric Assistant with over five years of experience at SPEC! You will find her all over our office supporting every area she can, from reception to pretest, and helping dispense eyewear. Her speciality lies as one of our Certified Ocular Hygienists in consulting and treating patients for dry eyes with Radio-Frequency (RF) and Intense Pulse Light (IPL) as well as assisting Dr. Randhawa with speciality contact lens fitting. She also does cosmetic consultations and is very knowledgeable in skincare. Outside of SPEC Holly enjoys crafting, crocheting, reading and doing puzzles. Most of all she loves spending time with her kitties!
Lesley Parsons
Ocular Hygienist
Lesley is one of our Certified Ocular Hygienists here at SPEC, but she also has experience working with our optical team in helping with your frame and lens fittings. Her speciality is all things related to using Radio-Frequency (RF) and Intense Pulse Light (IPL) to treat dry eye as well as cosmetics. She’s also one of our skincare experts! Outside of the office, she enjoys time at home with her family, cooking, baking, and all things artistic and creative. She is an artist with a focus on painting in oil and acrylic as well as making leather jewellery.
Megan Kotowich
Optometric Assistant
Megan is one of our Optometric Assistants here at SPEC. You will meet her before your eye exam with the Optometrist as she performs preliminary testing for the doctor. She is excellent with families and children! Outside of routine testing, Megan is highly skilled with our more advanced testing protocols our doctors will request for eye disease management. Outside of the office Megan enjoys biking and going for walks. She spends her weekends on her family farm in St. Paul or visiting friends. Her favourite snacks include bagels and Coke Zero!
Kelly Meters
Optometric Assistant
Kelly has been one of our pretest technicians here at SPEC for over 10 years. Always ready to greet you with her friendly smile and going the extra mile to take care of you while you’re in the office. You’ll often find Kelly making sure everyone is having the best day they can, whether they need a laugh or a hug. Outside of the office, she loves to travel, especially anywhere warm with her family! She is an avid crafter and baker which means she often spoils her SPEC team!
Fauzia Jama
Licensed Optician
Fauzia is one of our Licensed Opticians with over five years of experience in the industry. She has a passion for finding that unique frame fit for all of our patients! You will see Fauzia working with our suppliers, hand-picking frames for you to try on. Her education and experience have also given her the ability to help those with any prescription find a good-fitting frame, and an even better-fitting lens! In her free time, Fauzia loves to read, cook, binge-watch TV shows, and listen to music in any language and genre.
AJ Shackel
Optical Lab Technician
AJ is our Optical Lab Technician with over 10 years of experience. He is responsible for our in-office lab where we edge (or cut) lenses down to fit your frame, tricky repairs, and being here to deliver your glasses to you with the perfect fit. Every pair of eyeglasses ordered at SPEC is evaluated by AJ to ensure all of our patients are getting the best product we can deliver! Outside of the office, AJ has a passion for the gym, growing plants and terrariums and always brings a light-hearted sense of humour to every environment.
Tammy Gordan
Reception & Administrative Assistant
Tammy is one of the first smiling faces you will see in your visit to our office. Tammy's warm and calm spirit means even on the busiest days she's keeping our office running smoothly and efficiently for you. She will be able to help you with your insurance billing, ordering contact lenses, and squeezing you into the schedule for those follow up appointments. Outside of SPEC she loves to spend time with her husband and three daughters. She enjoys exploring and discovering new things with her family. One of her favourite treasures from her travels is a piece of the Berlin Wall!
Sara Wilson
Frame Stylist
Sara is one of our frame stylists, and is pursuing becoming a licensed Optician. Sara's eye for style and finding the perfect frame for your face will have you leaving feeling confident in your vision while getting compliments on the perfect new eyewear! When she's not working, Sara spends her time doing arts and crafts and hanging out with friends and family. Sara is crazy for pets in all shapes and sizes.
Cobi Anderson
Reception & Administrative Assistant
Cobi is one of the first friendly faces you will see when entering SPEC. Cobi is skilled at triaging emergency appointments and finding that perfect time in the schedule for you and your kids! Outside of SPEC Cobi loves being outside, walking her puppy, workout out, cooking, watching basketball (Go Raptors!), and spending with with her husband & children.
Farhin Hanslod
Frame Stylist
Farhin is one of our newest optical dispensers. She comes to us all the way from the U.K. She's skilled at frame styling, and helping you find the perfect lens for your vision. Farhin loves Middle Eastern cuisine, especially Shawarma, Kebab, and Hummus. Outside of work she enjoys spending time in nature: taking in mountains, waterfalls, forests, lakes, oceans, valleys and hills. When she is not busy adventuring you will most likely find her at home reading a book or catching up on a British TV series with a cup of tea.
Raelee Van-Doesberg
Pretest Lead
Raelee is our pretest lead but you will also see her at reception. Her expertise lies in leading our pretest technicians in performing a wide variety of testing efficiently and as accurately as possible. Raelee brings an always positive attitude to make sure everyone feels comfortable and taken care of while we get you ready to see our doctors. She keeps busy in her free time playing with her puppies, reading, board games, puzzling and travelling. She has travelled all over including Nepal, India and Panama!
