Contact Lenses

Sherwood Park Eye Centre offers a wide selection of contact lenses including disposable soft contact, bifocal/multifocal, toric and coloured lenses. Whether you wear daily, weekly or monthly disposables, check out our selection of lenses that fit your needs.

We provide a thorough eye exam so that your new contacts are prescribed correctly to enhance your vision, and also to detect any conditions that would cause problems with wearing contact lenses. Our exam also allows us to determine the best contact lenses to fit your lifestyle.

During your visit, assuming we have your prescription and fit in stock, you’ll be able to try your new contacts immediately and wear them home to make sure your site and comfort are satisfied. We will offer instruction for the proper care and usage of your lenses.

Eye Exams for
Contact Lenses

A routine exam won’t provide some of the measurements and testing that are required to determine if your eyes are suitable for contact lens wear, and to generate your contact lens Rx. That’s why we offer exams tailored specifically for those wishing to use contact lenses.

Gas-Permeable (GP)
Contact Lenses

Gas-permeable lenses are more rigid and thus less popular as soft lenses, but they are more durable, provide more crisp vision and allow your eyes to breathe better.

Bifocal & Multifocal
Contact Lenses

If you need correction for presbyopia but dislike the idea of bifocal eyeglasses, you can find many contact lens options at Sherwood Park Eye Centre. Our Optometrists have significant experience with multifocal contact lenses.

Contact Lenses for the
“Hard-to-Fit” Patient

Certain eye conditions—namely astigmatism, presbyopia, keratoconus and dry eyes—used to provide barriers to wearing contact lenses, but with advancements in technology, that is no longer so. That said, it may take more time to find the right fit for your eyes.

Scleral Contact Lenses

Scleral lenses are larger than most RGP and soft lenses as they do not sit on the cornea like the aforementioned. Scleral lenses vault over the cornea and sit on the sclera, or white part of the eye. These lenses are completely customizable to fit each patient's needs ranging from dry eye to keratoconus. Scleral lens fittings require additional testing and appointments. Our optometrists are skilled at fitting scleral lenses with confidence.

Why Buy Contact Lenses from our office?

  • When you buy your lenses from us, you are not only supporting a locally owned business but you also get the peace of mind of knowing your lenses came directly from the manufacturing company. Part of the risks of ordering online is the varying quality of lenses. Even if the packaging looks the same, the lenses themselves may be different. Contact lenses purchased online are also exposed to a wide variety of temperature extremes which can impact the lens quality.
  • Lenses are fitted correctly to ensure the safest and healthiest contacts are selected. Prescriptions are calculated to ensure the best vision is achieved
  • Our prices are competitive with online and big box stores. On average our patients save over $150 on annual supplies of daily contact lens compared to online retailers. Visit our store to save money on your next contact lens order!
  • We will exchange any unopened & undamaged boxes, ensuring you will never be “stuck” with lenses that are not your current prescription.
  • Receive 20% off your glasses with the purchase of a year's supply of contact lenses.
